More than 1,200 people came together early on 8 September 2023 at the Crown Resort Ballroom to offer prayers for our local, state and federal communities. The WA Governor Christopher John Dawson AC APM welcomed school students, church groups and long-time supporters of this event with his opening remarks before handing over to keynote speaker Mr John Weiland from the United States.
The tradition of the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast began more than thirty years ago in Western Australia (WA) and has grown in number each year. All of the SCEA schools invited student leaders and parent representatives to be present at the breakfast, along with Head Office representatives, Board Members and parent committee representatives from the seven schools.
The 7:15am start meant an early wake-up call for students and staff all over the Perth metropolitan region, who finished the morning by participating in the Christian song ‘The Blessing’ sung by Kings College, Wellard students.
All SCEA representatives then headed to their respective schools to begin their Friday feeling enlightened, uplifted and well-fed!
