Kalamunda Christian School (KCS) continues to foster excellent relationships with local churches, with Mr Craig Hunter (Principal – KCS) speaking at Kalamunda Church of Christ on Sunday and inviting Mr Jordan Thyer (Senior Pastor – Providence Midland) to share with a parent group just two nights later!
The Sunday service was very special for KCS and SCEA staff, with Miss Isla Howard (daughter of Mrs Mariel Howard, a longtime SCEA staff member who passed away in May last year) being baptised by Pastor Mr Brad Paterson.
Miss Howard spoke of her mother’s health issues being pivotal in the faith conversation between the two of them and that this baptism was a testament to her mother’s conversations, resilience and belief in God despite all of the difficulties that can come in this life.
Isla is a former KCS student (2018 graduate) who then attended Swan Christian College (SCC).

On Tuesday night at KCS, Mr Jordan Thyer was invited to speak to parents about living our lives as Christian examples to those we meet each day.
The opportunity to hear from Mr Thyer (a SCEA Board member and Mundaring Christian College parent) was a rare privilege for those who attended, with fruitful conversation following his address centring around a pivotal verse for all Christians in the book of 1 Peter from the New Testament:
“…but in your hearts honour Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.”
1 Peter 3:15
