SCEA Research Trip to Brisbane opens new doors for communication and fellowship

Eight SCEA staff members and a SCEA Board member packed their interstate bags this week and travelled to Queensland to take in a number of Christian schools and the Christian Schools Australia (CSA) Leadership Summit.

Early-week visits to Groves Christian School (Kingston, Queensland) and Emmanuel Christian School (Gold Coast, Queensland) allowed the SCEA team to be warmly greeted by the respective school communities.

“We’ve enjoyed the tours and commentary from the school leaders here,” said Mr Stuart Chisholm this week.

“I think we’ve also gained insight into how the Gospel is proclaimed in their respective settings. We should all be encouraged that our brothers and sisters in Christ are growing and further impacting communities across Australia.”

The keynote speakers at the conference were international Christian author Professor Karen Swallow-Prior and Dr Trevor Cairney.

The speeches asked the attendees to consider the formation of young people in the face of cultural influences.

Dr Gregg Weaver was the tour leader for the SCEA group in Brisbane, with his adroit photography skills on full display in the gallery below.

“Our goal in sending staff to these conferences and visiting like-minded Christian schools is to learn and engage further with the Christian school community across Australia,” said Dr Weaver.
