Recently, while visiting our homeland of New Zealand (Aotearoa), my wife and I spent a day at the remarkable Hobbiton movie set.
For those who are familiar with all things ‘Middle Earth’, you will know that it was Sir Peter Jackson who helped to write the script, direct and produce the legendary ‘Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy and then the subsequent prequel, ‘The Hobbit’.
These films highlighted the scenery of New Zealand.

As we marvelled at the hills full of hobbit residences, walked through Bilbo Baggins’s home of “Bag End’, and drank at the Green Dragon Inn, one could have been forgiven for thinking this all came about purely by creative genius and a lot of dedicated set workers and design craftsmen.
And while that is true, we also know that behind every great film, there must be important policies and procedures.
Employment, Financial, Safety, Resources, Contracts – the list goes on.

In the same way, the creative genius and dedicated work of all who work across our SCEA sites require clear policies and workable processes.
It also takes individual dedication from our SCEA staffers to be familiar with these policies and work with them for the benefit of all.
