Canvas? Why are we talking about art supplies in the lead-up to Christmas?
In fact, Canvas is a software product that is designed to enable our teaching staff to connect with students and collaborate with colleagues – and its coming to your school soon!
For the computer-savvy teachers out there, you may already be aware of Canvas and the work that has been done by a team of SCEA-wide representatives to ensure that all of our schools are brought online in a systematic way.
The main aim is to see our staff ‘onboarded’ (trained in each area of software usage) in a timely manner by our expert teachers and trainers.
The Canvas Working Group has had a particularly busy month, with regular meetings involving representatives from all seven schools to assess the progress of the Canvas project.
Ms Lize-Mari Janse van Rensburg, Dr Gregg Weaver, and Mr Stephen Drew have provided significant support in this training phase.
The initiative is now in its onboarding phase at the secondary campus of Swan Christian College (SCC), where Canvas is scheduled to go live in Term 1, 2025.
Secondary staff at SCC began their training in Week 4 of this term, with sessions running through to Week 6—each day focusing on a different department.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Canvas project continues to progress across all of our SCEA schools!
