19 February 2025 – ‘Cost of Living’ Payment 

As part of the 2024 Enterprise Agreement discussions that took place in the second of last year, a one-time payment has been arranged for SCEA staff on the 19 February 2025 pay cycle.

The details of this payment calculation were outlined in SCEA News in December, but for those who may not recall this, here are some bullet points to help you understand who is eligible, how this payment was calculated and how much this is all costing:

  • The payment will be included in the pay run on February 19, 2025.
  • To be eligible, staff must be employed by SCEA as of February 1, 2025.
  • Relief or casual staff will not receive the payment.
  • Staff who have left employment before February 1, 2025, will not receive this payment.
  • The amount of the payment will be 2% of your earnings between the pay periods of January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024 plus the Super Guarantee equivalent.
  • No additional super will be payable on this payment of your earnings between the pay periods of January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, since it is included in the payment.
  • The total expected value of the payment benefiting all relevant SCEA staff across all schools is $1.3 million.

This payment includes:

  • All types of paid leave (including Long Service Leave)
  • All promoted allowances under the Enterprise Agreement
  • All relief and overtime worked by eligible staff
