Last week, students from Southern Hills Christian College, Swan Christian College, and Carey Baptist College – Harrisdale came together for an Aboriginal Leadership Conference organised by Carey Right Track Foundation.
This not-for-profit organisation was established in 2010 with the goal of empowering remote and Indigenous communities through athletic development.
The day began with an exciting visit to the West Coast Eagles headquarters in Lathlain, where participants took part in a leadership workshop led by the Eagles staff.
Later on, students were joined by Razzy Mak, an inspiring Aboriginal rapper and content creator, who motivated them to create and perform their own raps, focusing on themes such as identity and purpose.
This event aimed to unite Aboriginal students from different schools, providing them with an opportunity to connect and develop the skills necessary to become leaders and difference-makers in their schools and communities.
