Association Meeting outlines strategic gains and future goals for 2023

Tuesday, 19 September 2023 was a big day for SCEA’s Board members, with the new team spending the day at a Board meeting at the SCEA Head Office (1 Padbury Terrace, Midland) before heading to Swan Christian College for the Association Meeting in the evening.

Association Members and staff took time to chat together and reflect on the Term Three achievements across the SCEA schools before moving into a more formal meeting that allowed SCEA Board Chair, Mr Craig Clark, to welcome the new Board members and introduce Mr Craig Hunter, Principal – Kalamunda Christian School (KCS), to speak to the gathered group about overseas missions, missions within our country and missions within our schools.

Mr Hunter’s impact upon the KCS community has been impressive in his first year at the Walliston campus. His sense of energy and enthusiasm about KCS and the broader SCEA mission allowed the group to realise that ‘mission’ happens everywhere and our role as Christians is to understand this – and be considerate of how we are to achieve this for the Lord’s work in our lives and the lives of people we come into contact with.

Dr Graeme Cross, SCEA CEO, highlighted the most recent events at each SCEA school, with many schools celebrating new building projects, new enrolments and new community initiatives.

As the SCEA Board now takes shape for the year ahead, our prayer for SCEA schools to continue to be places where Christian staff can share the beauty and light of the gospel and the outworking of the fruit of the Spirit to be effective in sharing a Christ-centred education with the students and families we serve.
